Ablaze
Set in 1947, Ablaze tells the story of the tragedy of New Zealand’s worst fire disaster, set against a backdrop of social change for working women following WWII. Multiple pre-shoot grading tests helped the camera, production and costume design teams tailor specific solutions for the challenging black & white look. Using multiple tonal shifts and bringing details into the blacks added depth and richness to the footage. Photo-real visual effects, combined with Colourist Andrew Brown's outstanding grade, brought to life this astounding story of heartbreak and survival.
